THE COST OF HEALTHY HAIR

We all want that gorgeous hair, easy to manage, grows like crazy, voluminous but are we willing to invest in a clear healthy hair routine. That means eating right, exercising but most importantly, having the right PRODUCTS!

What constitutes a good hair routine you ask? Let us breakdown all that you will need (ps. all products mentioned can be found in our hair care category)

1. SHAMPOO

Shampoos are viscous-type products, usually in the form of a liquid that’s created to clean the hair and scalp and remove the excess sebum in the hair follicles. Shampoos are produced by combining compounds. They act as cleaning or foaming agents that wash impurities out of the hair.

The ingredients in shampoo is similar to what is used in soap. However, the ingredients in shampoos are manufactured to be gentler on the hair and protect the outer layer of the hair from damage. Using soap to wash your client’s hair will strip away the outer layer of the hair shaft, giving it a rough texture, and making it unmanageable.

2. CONDITIONERS

Conditioner is a moisturizing agent that is usually made up of silicones and oils. These ingredients help to bring moisture back into your hair after it has been removed with shampoo or other external factors. There are a lot of different kinds of conditioners as well. There is the traditional kind of conditioner you probably use daily. There is also a deep conditioner that can be left on for a longer period of time to further moisturize and give you those shining, luscious locks. There is even leave in conditioner that, as the name suggests, does not require any rinsing.

3. MASKS

A hair mask is a deep conditioning treatment that helps to heal damaged hair. They contain rich ingredients such as natural oils and lipids, in heavier concentrations than normal conditioners. You leave a hair mask in for an extended period of time, three minutes to overnight. Even if your hair is normally healthy, the changing of the seasons can be hard on your strands.

4. SOUFFLES

The term “soufflé” describes the texture and malleability of a hair product. A product that is called a soufflé likely has a soft, smooth, and sometimes gelatinous texture. Curl soufflés have a soufflé-like texture and are usually used to define curls.

5. MOUSSE/STYLING FOAM

Mousse, which means “foam” in French, tends to have a lighter consistency than gels, and also has a bouncier quality than creams. It can give your hair twice or even thrice as much more volume. Hair mousse also helps hair look and feel shinier and give it more definition without the crunch, as long as you know how to apply hair mousse correctly.

6. HAIR TREATMENTS

Hair treatments generally refer to any means of managing common hair related problems such as hair fall, dryness, dandruff, frizzy hair, thinning hair, and so on. The treatments vary in terms of the problem you are suffering from because different ingredients and elements are required to tackle them.

7. CURLING CREAMS

Creams, typically, are less of a styling product and more of a hair care product. They provide moisture, definition, and shine. They also help to keep hair healthy, eliminate frizz, and moisturize from the inside out. Curl creams are soft, light, and don’t feel greasy or stiff when applied to hair.

8. GEL CREAMS

Gels, in general, have the main function of holding and setting the hair, and that goes for straight or curly hair.
